GET YOUR TEACHER ASSIGNMENTS TODAY
Contrary to a recent rumor, teacher assignments will be given out today after you turn in your emergency and disaster forms to the office staff.

There is still time to complete your Jump Start Day forms. Using the online forms is very simple. Open the packet, fill in the forms, print and bring them to JSD on the 23rd. Click here to open the electronic packet.

Packets will also be available at jump Start Day.

If you have any questions regarding JSD or the electronic or printed packets please contact Jeff Eide at JEideVP@gmail.com or strandwood_emailclub@ hotmail.com.

The Back to School Nights are listed on the home page of the website and at the bottom of this newsletter in the Dates, Times and Places section. I'm not going to try and post them here any more :-)

Strandwood Elementary Website
The Strandwood website (http://www.strandwood.org) has undergone a major face lift during the last two years and is constantly improving. We encourage everyone to surf around the site and see what is there. We have recently moved the site and you shouldn't see "mdusd.k12.ca.us" in the address bar, only http://strandwood.org. If you have any questions or comments regarding the website please contact Orlando Guzman

Drop-off and Pick-up at Strandwood
MADD Photo If this is your first year at Strandwood, or you forget things quickly, let's review the drop-off and pick-up procedures. When dropping off or picking up your student in front of the school only stop in the yellow zones. Do not stop in the red zones please. If you have to leave your vehicle for any reason, for any amount of time, find a parking stall to pull into. Those who leave their vehicles in the drop off zones or park in the red zones do a great disservice to the rest of the drivers and can create a hazard. The Red zone is for the buses to load and unload students. You will be paged over the PA system and asked to move your car immediately if you are blocking the buses access, and everyone will be watching.

Also available is off-site parking and drop-off on both the north and south side of the school. To the south, there is parking on Monti Court, off Monti Circle, and to the north parking is available on Maureen Lane. If you get a chance you might want to check these locations out before school starts on Wednesday. If you have the luxury of being able to walk your children to the classroom these are great alternatives to fighting the crown in front of the school. Always make sure you lock you vehicles and leave valuables out of sight. I don't know of any problems around the Strandwood area but you should always take precautions when parking in a public area.

School Site Council Elections
There are openings for parents on the School Site Council that will be filled in the next few weeks.  Nomination and ballot information will be in next Monday's Roadrunner. If you would like more information about the Site Council click here.
