Summer Vacation Gardening Committee |
| A special thanks to our summer-time gardening committee!!
Each volunteer took a week out of their summer to come to school to water and weed Strandwood's garden areas. Thanks so much, Mike Howard, Cynthia Cartagena, Ellen Dutton, Camilla Podowski, Susan Dailey, Jackie Stuart, Orlando Guzman, Rosie Misenhimer and Annie Reed.
Thanks also to Azalee Flores and Vangie Jordon for coming out over the summer to weed and water garden areas. Everyone's hard work made a huge difference! Interested in joining the gardening committee this year?
Please stop by the PTA VP-Programs table at Jump Start Day. There will be a sign-up sheet for both the gardening committee and Make a Difference Day. Question? Please email Noga at nogakessler@yahoo.com
Hope to see you there. |
Fingerprinting and TB Tests
|
Starting in 2009 all volunteers working with students have been required to be fingerprinted and provide a negative TB test. Every year, as school starts, parents flood the district with fingerprinting appointment requests. Early in the school year that appointment might be 3 to 6 weeks away. If you have not completed your fingerprinting you will not be allowed to work with the students. This requirement also applies to field trip drivers.
If you are going to volunteer this year please beat the rush and get your fingerprinting appointment right now. Get the instructions and form by clicking below.

Pleasant Hill Middle School All-In-One Day Reminder
|
All-in-One Day at PHMS will take place Tuesday, August 17.
At All-in-One Day (or Camp Pleasant Hill for 6th graders and new families), you and your student will complete a variety of registration activities, including having school photos taken and receiving your student's all-important class schedule.
All-in-One Day packets were mailed out last Friday to all incoming 6th, 7th and 8th graders. If you have a child at PHMS but not yet received your packet, call the school office at 256-0791 between 8:00am and 4:00pm or just stop by to pick up a packet.
The packet contains all forms and information needed to successfully complete All-in-One Day. Be sure to review the packet and complete all required forms before coming to All-in-One Day.
If you are attending PHMS and haven't signed up for the newsletter, PHMS Ram Slam, you should do it now by visiting their web site by clicking here or online at http://www.mdusd.k12.ca.us/pleasanthillmiddle.
