Happy Memorial Day
The National Moment of Remembrance,
established by Congress, amemorial daysks Americans, wherever they are at 3 p.m., local time, on Memorial Day, to pause in an act of national unity for a duration of one minute. The time 3 p.m. was chosen because it is the time when most Americans are enjoying their freedoms on the national holiday. The Moment does not replace traditional Memorial Day events; rather, it is an act of national unity in which all Americans, alone or with family and friends, honor those who died in service to the United States.

Update on Measure C
The MDUSD Facilities Bond on the June 8th Ballot
June 1-8 is a Critical Week for the Yes on Measure C Campaign:We need your help to GOTV-Get Out the Vote!

These final days of the campaign leading up to Election Day are the most critical in our cause of taking a positive stand for quality education for students in our district. Don't let the opportunity go by to play even a small part in what can be a major victory for our kids.

Here's how you can help get the word out in the next eight days to friends and neighbors that we need to take action now and vote "Yes" on Measure C. Together, we can provide our schools with stable local funding for facilities, technology and infrastructure, funding that can't be taken away by the State.

1. Sign up now for one of our final phone banking nights, June 1-3 or join us to make voter reminder calls in the final two days before the election. Go to protectourlocalschools.org for more details.

2. Gather your friends and your family together on June 5 or 6th and come out and help us with an important district wide precinct walk to remind our neighbors to vote on June 8th.  Put a party together of interested parents beforehand who will plan to meet up at campaign headquarters officially those mornings to walk together. Involve your kids. Make plans to include donuts! In short, set aside the time to have fun while working towards a safe, comfortable and modern learning environment for students all across our district.

3. Don't forget to have all members of your own household vote on June 8! In an election like this, absolutely every individual vote counts. We know it's a busy week. And it's very hard to find time for just one more thing. However, this "one more thing" can make a huge difference for thousands and thousands of children in our community for years and years to come.

The time is RIGHT NOW to stand up for them!

Visit protectourlocalschools.org to tell us how you can help.
6th Annual Firecracker Run
The 6th Annual July 4th Firecracker 5K Fun Run Will Again Benefit Pleasant Hill Schools

The Pleasant Hill Fourth of July Commission has announced that Joggersthe Firecracker 5K Fun Run will again be a part of this year's Fourth of July Celebration.  All proceeds from the run will be donated to Pleasant Hill schools!  Better yet, every runner who registers will receive a T-shirt and can designate what Pleasant Hill school they would like their registration fees to be donated to!  Last year, the Fourth of July Commission awarded over $10,700 to Pleasant Hill schools. This is a great opportunity for parents and children, friends and neighbors to raise money for our school.

Fleet Feet Sports, the Rotary Club of Pleasant Hill, and Allied Waste are generously sponsoring this year's event which will begin at 8am and makes three laps of the parade route in downtown Pleasant Hill.  Same day registration and the start of the race will be in front of Fleet Feet Sports on Crescent Drive.

On-line registration can be accessed by visiting the Fourth of July Commission's website at www.PHJuly4.com and click on the "5K Run" tab.  By registering on-line, individual runners and families will receive a break in registration fees from $5 to $15.

What a great way to kick off the Fourth of July and to help our school!
