Beat The Fingerprinting Rush
If you are thinking of volunteering next year, and haven't been fingerprinted, you should consider making arrangements over the summer to get that done. If you wait until the beginning of the school year there is usually a long wait period. New kindergarten parents, you should have received a fingerprinting form with your information packet on orientation night last week.

To get your clearance to work with the students you need to call the district personnel office at 682-8000 x4153 and make an appointment. It is advisable to do this after receipt of your evidence of negative TB test. There is a $32 charge for the fingerprinting.

This June, we have a chance to help our schools and students by passing Measure C, a local school bond measure that will be in front of local voters on the June 8, 2010 primary election. Visit protectourlocalschools.org today for the latest email newsletter from the campaign. This week's edition includes:

CC Times Guest Commentary: Read the "Your Turn" guest commentary that appeared in last Sunday's Contra Costa Times by bond co-chairs Kish Rajan and Jenny Reik. For full text, visit the media section of protectourlocalschools.org

Mt. Diablo Council of PTAs endorses Measure C:  We're pleased to announce that the Mt. Diablo Council of PTAs, representing 25 schools throughout the district and over 5,000 individual members, has just lent its official support to the campaign! View a full list of endorsements at protectourlocalschools.org

Measure C and Fiscal Accountability and Oversight: By law, Measure C will be subject to independent citizen oversight and annual audits, and funds can't be taken by the state. Find out more about the District's top-notch track record managing its last school bond, approved by local voters in 2002, a record that included leveraging over $100 million in state matching funds; completing every one of the promised high-priority projects on-time; excellent independent citizen oversight committee and audit reports; and saving tax payers 15-20% off the original 2002 ballot tax estimate.  Learn more at protectourlocalschools.org or at the district's official site: www.mdusd.org/Departments/AdministrativeServices/MeasureC
Volunteers Still Needed for Phone Banking and Precinct Walking!
