Message From the Superintendent Steven Lawrence
| Dear Parents and Guardians,
As superintendent of the Mt. Diablo Unified School District, I have witnessed many great things in my three months on the job. I have seen academic excellence by the recent recognition of Delta View and Hidden Valley elementary schools as California Distinguished Schools; I have felt the dedication of committed teachers and staff members; and I have observed the desire of young minds looking to learn and grow.
Unfortunately, I have also spent the better part of my tenure trying to find solutions to the biggest budgetary challenge school districts in California have ever faced. I am writing you today to provide you an overview of the fiscal challenges that are currently facing the Mt. Diablo Unified School District and what we are doing to address them.

Help Our Schools! Support Measure C The MDUSD Facilities Bond
|
This June, we have a chance to help our schools by passing Measure C, a local school bond measure that will be in front of local voters on the June 8, 2010 primary election.
At a time when state funding is increasingly unreliable, Measure C will invest in our children's futures by making improvements to local schools' labs, classrooms, and general facilities that our students can count on. Measure C requires 55% voter approval to pass - and polling shows we can win if we all pull together. We need your help!
What can you do?
*** Visit www.protectourlocalschools.org to learn about the details. Visit mdusd.org, select the "community" tab and then select "June 2010 Bond Measure C" for a full listing by school site of proposed Measure C projects.
*** Sign up to phone bank or walk the neighborhood. We need help in getting the word out and just two to four hours of your time donated to the campaign can make a huge difference. Sign up online for hours that are convenient to you at protectourlocalschools.org
*** Talk to friends and neighbors and urge them to vote yes.
*** Vote. Make sure your neighbors vote.
*** Donate to the campaign
Take a positive stand for our children today!
Please visit protectourlocalschools.org to endorse, donate or sign up to phone bank and walk. If you have any questions, please email info@protectourlocalschools.org
Our students are counting on you. We hope you'll join us in working to pass Measure C!
