A Message From The PTA President
End of the Year Activities
PTA President photoWhile the end of the school year still seems far away, there is a lot the PTA needs to accomplish before it arrives.

First, we need nominations for Honorary Service Awards. Every year, the PTA requests nominations for these special awards which will be announced at Strandwood's Open House.  You will be receiving more detailed information this shortly. Keep an eye out for nomination forms in your child's communication folder.

Second, the PTA is fortunate enough to have had fundraising in excess of our annual expenses. A portion of these funds will be maintained to ensure payment of instructional assistant positions for the next school year but we will still have excess funds. Decisions as to how this money will be spent or saved for future use will be decided at upcoming PTA meetings. We encourage as many people to attend as possible.

Third, our newly elected Vice Presidents will be looking to fill open coordinator positions for next year. Many of our coordinators are returning next year but have children going into fifth grade. We will be looking for people to shadow these coordinators so they can take over the position in the 2011-2012 school year.

Lastly, there are a lot of activities still planned: Talent Show, Bike-to-School Day and Open House. Check the Roadrunner and our new Bulletin Board (outside office) for all the information.
