Message From the PTA President
By Sue Noack
At this time of the year, we all take time to be thankful.  I spend most of my year being thankful for everyone that helps out with the PTA and its activities.

This month I need everyone to be thankful and supportive of our great Nutcracker crew.  It is one of the highlights of the season and I would ask for everyone's help in making this year as memorable as ever.  I especially want to ask for everyone to be patient and understanding with the ticket process.  Year after year this has been a thankless job as people are eager to have family members attend such a fantastic performance.  However, this is not always doable.  Shortly you will be receiving information about tickets.  Each performer will receive two tickets for the performance in which he or she is performing.  They will only receive those tickets if permission slips were turned (these should have gone to the child's teacher).  If there are extra tickets they will be distributed in an equitable fashion but many may not hear about their requests until shortly before performance day.  Please be kind and respectful of the process.  Let me remind as well that there are 100 seats available at each of the Dress Rehearsals, so please take advantage of them.

Thank you and enjoy the shows!!

Save Your Capri Sun Drink Pouches
Capri Sun Pouch RESPECT THE POUCH!!! Every year BILLIONS of drink pouches end up in dumpsters and landfills across America. TerraCycle, Capri Sun and Honest Kids are working together to put an end to this awful loss of resources. As an eco-friendly innovator, TerraCycle converts the used drink pouches into unique fashion bags, tote bags, pencil cases, and other items for kids and adults!

TerraCycle is proud to team up with the largest producer of drink pouches in the country, Capri Sun, and a young organic entry into the market, Honest Kids, to help address this problem! Together with your help we CAN make a difference! (and even earn 2 cents a pouch!)  Please start a collection at home: saving and gathering pouches from parties, soccer games, picnics at the park, etc....Starting Monday, November 9th there will bill collection bins in the cafeteria where you can deposit your pouches at any time. Please just make sure they are empty!! The fourth graders will do the rest as they will use the funds to help with outdoor education for 2010.  Check out http://www.terracycle.net for more information.

More Clothing Missing an Owner
The lost clothing section is once again overflowing. Everyone should take the time to stop by the fence to the West of the multi-use room and see if anything belongs to their child! I was over there last week helping hang a garment and found one of my children's items!!
