MDUSD Monday Memo

At its meeting on Tuesday, February 10, the Board of Education unanimously adopted a resolution to place the following proposition before the voters in June:

"To provide all students with a quality education, including reading, writing, math and science; ensure reliable, local funding to protect against harmful state budget cuts; attract and retain quality teachers; maintain vital college and work force preparation programs; and enhance classroom technology; shall the Mount Diablo Unified School District be authorized to levy $99 per parcel annually, with no funding for district office administrator salaries, an exemption for seniors and strict monitoring by an independent citizen oversight committee?"

To read more about the parcel tax proposition and the additional one million dollars cut from the budget on February 10th click here or visit the MDUSD website at http://www.mdusd.k12.ca.us/ and click on the Superintendent/Monday Memo tab. While you are reading the Monday Memo click on the "join" link at the bottom of the page and sign up to receive the Monday memo each week.
Another (short) MDUSD Homework Survey

The Mt. Diablo Unified school District is developing the Administrative Rule section of a Homework Board Policy. The Administrative Rule provides guidelines for school staff, students and parents/guardians on the implementation of that policy. In the case of the Homework Board Policy it will provide suggestions for schools to follow when developing their school plan, which will be embedded in the Single Plan for Student Achievement.

To be effective, homework assignments should not place an undue burden on students and families. Homework should reinforce classroom learning objectives and be related to individual student needs and abilities..

The information gathered from this survey will be used by district employees in the development of the Administrative Rule. The survey is anonymous and will go off line on February 28th. Click here to take the 10 question survey. Thanks for your help
