Wainscott Family Story Earlier this year we received a note from June Wainscott. She and her family were introduced to the Ronald McDonald House of Providence in December of 2011. She shares the following:
"December 21, 2011 was the worst day of my life. My 19 year old son suffered a brain aneurysm and went through emergency brain surgery at Rhode Island Hospital. My daughter flew in from California the next day with her 20 month old son. We stayed in the waiting room at the hospital for several days before someone mentioned the Ronald McDonald House of Providence.
We went across the street to RMH Providence, had a warm shower and meal. One of the staff members insisted we take a room.
The Ronald McDonald House of Providence turned out to be a blessing in our time of need. Not only did they feed us and give us a place to sleep but we were also able to wash our clothes. Every person we met and all the volunteers were kind and compassionate towards us. I honestly don't know how I could have gotten through such a stressful time without RMH Providence. It truly is a home away from home." |

Little Philanthropist
12 year old Atreyu Lavoie presented Board President, Dan Hanlon, with a check for $1,233. Atreyu explained, to the Board of Directors, that he raised this money through a "pop tab" collection. However this was no ordinary pop tab collection. ...
To maximize the amount of money raised for the House, Atreyu decided, with the help of his mom Lynn Levesque, to make pop tab bracelets and sell them for $3 a piece!! WOW Atreyu!
If you would like to purchase one of Atreyu's bracelets, stop by the RMH Providence tent at the Rock 'n' Roll Providence Half Marathon on Sunday 19th or contact Nicole Anderson. |

3rd Annual RMH Providence Celebrity Open

Monday, July 30 and Tuesday, July 31 marked the 3rd Annual RMH Providence and Grampy's Charities Celebrity Open and the third year of a great partnership between the two organizations. The weather was perfect as our golfers enjoyed the lush greens of the exclusive South Course at Lake of Isles at Foxwoods Resort.
Thank you to all who came out and supported the House including celebrities Sam Horn, Joe Andruzzi and Joe Kayata, to name a few.
After finsihing their round, golfers retreated to High Rollers Luxury Lanes & Lounge in the Grand Pequot for a dinner buffet and silent auction. Some guests took their turn aiming for the king-pin and bowled the luxury lanes.
A special thanks to Ludo Colle for donating his photography services. Click on an album link to check out event photos.
