Greetings All,
RMH Providence welcomes the change of season with a host of transformations. In this newsletter, you will find a warm welcome to our new house manager and board members. In addition, you will read about our new guest rooms and find recaps of our summer events. As always, we thank you for your continued interest in our mission. |
After many hours of hard work and careful planning, our two additional guest rooms are about to open. To catch a sneak peek, please stop by RMH Providence on November 1st or 2nd from 11am - 2pm.
Special thanks to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern New England (RMHCENE), Champlin Foundations, Cardi's Furniture, the Rhode Island Shriners and Ocean State Charities Trust for funding this expansion. We also thank our long range planning committee for their dedication.

Dr. Luks Expresses his Appreciation
We recently received a letter of thanks from Dr. Francois Luks, Director of the Fetal Treatment Program at Hasbro Children's Hospital.
"I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for RMH's support for our Fetal Treatment Program. Recently, a woman from Louisiana came to Providence to undergo treatment for her unborn baby - and had to stay for a month, until the second (planned) procedure. Money and uprooting were two major problems for her and her mother, and the Ronald McDonald House played a huge role in making her stay in Rhode Island pleasant. She underwent the second procedure, returned to Louisiana and has had nothing but good things to say about her experience here. I know that the RMH is there for families of hospitalized children - but we all appreciate the fact that you extended this to families of unborn children as well.
We are all very grateful for your support of our Fetal Treatment Program." |
Students Lend 28 Helping Hands
Thanks to Shawn Rubin and his Kindergarten class from Highlander Charter School, our flowerbeds were flooded with vibrant colors all summer long. The KB class chose RMH Providence to be the recipient of their community service hours for the schools' Service Week. Fourteen kindergarteners from the Providence area came ready to get their hands dirty and help beautify the grounds. Their hard work is greatly appreciated.
