The lyrics of Casting Crowns' song American Dream are based on the parable of building a house upon the
sand. The song/video tells the story of a man named Jack. Jack like many men ignores his
family in his pursuit of the American Dream until his life crumbles
like a sand castle at the beach and he realizes, "All work, no God has
left Jack with a lost soul."

| | Gibbs Confesses His Biggest Mistake in Life
"I want to share a message with you that continually challenges me at age 69. I've said this before but at this stage in
life, I feel like I'm in the fourth quarter.
So the question I ask myself is: where am I spending my time? Where am I storing up my treasures? We know in Matthew 6:19-20, God talks about
storing up your treasures in heaven."

"Men Together is Like Players in a Band "
God
can show Himself as He really is only to real men. And that means not
simply to men who are individually good, but to men who are united
together in a body, loving one another, helping one another, showing Him
to one another. For that is what God meant humanity to be like; like
players in one band, or organs in one body." C. S. Lewis, Mere Christianity -------------------------------------

Why the Prejudice Against Men? by Paul Coughlin
 "Christian
men don't like the prejudice against them, they complain--sometimes
bitterly--in private, but they keep going, though something happens to
many of them beginning in their late thirties. Church becomes a chore.
And a bore. They go out of duty, not because they receive much
inspiration there as men, or truly helpful instruction regarding
marriage and gender differences. They go because they feel they have to.
If you question this prejudice against men, then ask yourself: " "Why do
men have "Accountability Groups," at church, yet women have "Fellowship
Groups"? Men are treated as if they are one step away from committing
felonies. So they require constant monitoring, constant
"accountability," as if they are at risk of jumping a form of spiritual
bail." - Paul Coughlin------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
What is Your Destiny as Man of God? by Dave Brown
 I
often speak to men about discovering and savoring their identity,
legacy and destiny in Christ. A man's identity is not found in what he
does but in who he is because of the person and finished work of Christ. He leaves a godly legacy
by living a godly life empowered by Christ's Spirit. His destiny is
heaven where he will behold Christ face to face. C. S. Lewis captures something of the nature of our
destiny in Christ in the last paragraph of the last book of The Chronicles of Narnia series. READ MORE------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
