Webster Redefines Marriage

Websters Dictionary

In 2003, the Merriam-Webster company, which has been publishing dictionaries since 1847, added a secondary definition for marriage, which included same sex couples. Only this week did the change gain national attention. According to a press release from Merriam-Webster, quoted by the Associated Press, "The edited entry merely reflected the frequency with which the term 'same-sex marriage' had popped up in print and become part of the general lexicon. Its inclusion was a simple matter of providing dictionary users with accurate information about all of the word's current uses."

The current definition of marriage found in the Merriam-Webster dictionary is: (1): "The state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law (2): the state of being united to a person of the same sex in a relationship like that of a traditional marriage (same-sex marriage)." Greetings!

"What a conference!  My wife and 3 kids and my church are already reaping the blessings of yesterday. I am still on the mountain top with Dr. Rick Rigsby and General Jerry Boykin.  I did not want it to end - I wanted to build several tabernacles like the disciples!".

Those are the words of one of the five hundred men from thirty-three area churches who jammed into Largo Community Church March 28 for our Iron Sharpens Iron Conference. Another man wrote that as a result of the conference "God is doing a new thing in my life!".

Don't miss out on our second Spring Iron Sharpens Iron Conference on Saturday April 25 at Burke Community Church. This is also a great opportunity to invite and come with men of your church, small group, neighborhood, and workplace.  We encourage fathers and sons to make it a memorable day together. Check out the line-up below and take advantage of early registration discounts. For more information go to www.wacmm.org

solzhenitsyn
Why Are These Things Happening?
Alexander Solzhenitsyn (1918 - 2008) was a great author, freedom fighter and  Christian prophetic voice. His words below about his native Russia explain the alarming direction of western culture in the 21st century.

"Over half a century ago, while I was still a child, I remember hearing a number of older people offer the following explanation of the great disasters that have befallen Russia. "Men have forgotten God. That's why it has all happened'. And if I were called upon to identify the principal trait of the entire twentieth century, I would be unable to find anything more precise and more worthy than to repeat, men have forgotten God."
