Track Racing 101: Gear Selection
Dan Currell (Bianchi/Grand Performance) has developed a comprehensive guide to track gear selection. He worked closely with local riders in researching and creating his recommendations. One of the biggest conclusions Dan reaches is that bigger is not always better. The best racers typically ride gears much smaller than one might expect, relying on smooth pedal strokes and high cadence to propel them around the track. Dan's full article, including other tips for aspiring track racers can be found at the MN Cycling Federation's website, StartBikeRacing.com. Click here to read the full article.
