Pat is one of our elder statesmen. He's been racing the track for several years, but he's a "late bloomer" on the local racing scene. Pat bought his first bike at age 40 and didn't start racing until he was 57! He's always been a little non-traditional, though. He makes good use of his English degree from the University of Minnesota in his day-job: owner of PJW Automotive.

Pat has mixed it up in the Cat 4 peloton for the last few years. Last year, Pat saved himself for his last race night, finishing 5th in the first 2 events of the night. Unfortunately, as Pat was positioning himself for a strong finish in the State Championship Scratch Race, he was brought down in turn 3 by a crash ahead of him.The incident ended his season and sent him to the hospital with a broken collarbone.  

This year, aided by some great racing experience in Australia, Pat has upgraded to Cat 3. He's been training hard and intends to blow past the Masters 60+ Flying 200 record that has stood untouched for 15 years. Pat rides for the Gopher Wheelmen.
