World-Class Track Cycling Returns to Velodrome 
James Tainter in the leadSome of the hottest cycling in nearly a decade dazzled spectators at the MN Fixed Gear Classic, June 7-8. Two record-setting performances by Italian Olympian Roberto Chiappa crowned the event at the NSC Velodrome.  Chiappa's 10.575 second time in the Flying 200 meters on Saturday broke Olympic Gold Medalist Marty Nothstein's 15-year old record of 10.6 seconds. Later that day, he set another NSC Velodrome record with a 13.15 second time in the Flying 250 meter invitiational.
 
A strong field of 25 men and 16 women battled in a variety of races, chasing a total prize package of $5,000. Capacity crowds witnessed spectacular racing in near-perfect weather as local heroes went wheel-to-wheel with some of the world's best cyclists in this prelude to the Great River Energy Bicycle Festival. Read the full article.Omnium results

Thursday Night Lights Returns June 12 (Weather Permitting)

Rain has been the toughest competitor in the Thursday Night Lights racing series with two consecutive rain-outs preventing racing.  Riders and fans are equally anxious for clear skies this Thursday. Highlights of this week's racing will include the second installment of the Penn Cycle Points Race series.

Welcome Pierre!  

The NSC Velodrome is proud to welcome Pierre Bodin, our French intern. Pierre will be using his stay at the velodrome to build on his marketing education in his home country. Be sure to say hello to Pierre as he passes the bucket during Hot Race contests every Thursday.
