February/2010
Greetings!

Well the Groundhog saw his shadow. Six more weeks of winter. Perhaps not what we wanted to hear, but maybe a concrete "six weeks" is better than the highly ambiguous and abstract "around the corner."

In our last newsletter, we said we'd like to feature you in our twice monthly e-letters. The response was overwhelming, and now we're going through the process of sorting through all the information. Our first interview with photographer Mark Jansen will be published in the next newsletter. In the meantime, we'll introduce you to...Fine Print Imaging Customer Service and Marketing specialist, Greg Mayse.

Finding Your 'Peeps' by Luann Udell
marshmallow peepSomeone commented on my recent post, "RUNNING WITH THE PACK". She said she hadn't found her "peeps" yet, which inspired this post today.

I love the word "peeps". For me, they still conjure up visions of yellow marshmallow chicks at Easter time. I guess both "peeps" have things in common: Stickiness!

Here's a good tip for finding your tribe. The next time you find yourself preparing a a major step forward, look to see who's right there with you.

I give this advice every time I teach on workshop on professional development skills. I end every presentation with this suggestion....

While Greg is one of our newest employees (he's been with us for about a year and a half), he comes with a mountain of photographic experience. Greg knew that his "experience as a professional photographer and former photo lab manager would be an asset to the Fine Print team. As a previous Fine Print customer, I was very aware of the high level of quality images that they produced."

Greg adds, "It seems my career has been spent in the creative field. When I started college I had the intention of being an art teacher. I have worked as an illustrator, painter, graphic designer, writer and musician.

Dexter's Wag
Dexter Gratitude is Good!

When someone gives me a treat, I always wag my tail or give them my paw to shake. It's my way of saying "Thank you!"

Likewise, when someone purchases a print or an original from you, follow up in a week or two with a hand-written card. You can print out a nice looking card with one of your images on it using your home printer or you can get inexpensive postcards made locally or through an online company like PSPRINT.com. Or you can use a generic Thank You card. It doesn't have to be fancy or long winded. Just a simple, handwritten "Thank you for purchasing my piece..." will do.
