Greetings!

Happy Independence Day!

Whether you will (or did, depending on when you read this!) spend the 4th of July weekend at home enjoying a backyard BBQ with friends and family, relaxing at your favorite vacation spot or selling prints from your tent at an art show - however you celebrate our country's birthday, we at Fine Print wish you a Happy Fourth of July.

We'd like to share with you one of our favorite Fourth of July quotes: "You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbies, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism." - Erma Bombeck

What's Happening to the Taji Dolphins?

© Morgan Heim

The Cove is an amazing, compelling - and sad documentary about what is happening to dolphins - all hidden from public eyes - in Japanese town where "Flipper" is celebrated.

When the film crew first get to Taji, Japan, things look relatively normal. "But in a remote, glistening cove, surrounded by barbed wire and "Keep Out" signs, lies a dark reality. It is here, under cover of night, that the fishermen of Taiji, driven by a multi-billion dollar dolphin entertainment industry and an underhanded market for mercury-tainted dolphin meat, engage in an unseen hunt. The nature of what they do is so chilling -- and the consequences are so dangerous to human health -- they will go to great lengths to halt anyone from seeing it." (from the film synopsis)

The Cove is an multiple award winning movie including the 2009 Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival. The Cove will be released theatrically in the US mid summer, 2009. It is now showing in select theaters around the country.
