Greetings!
October is our favorite month - cool weather (but not
too cold! - trees displaying a riot of color as they reach
their branches up to the clear blue sky. All of nature
seems to be preparing for the shorter and, for most,
colder days that lie ahead.
To that end we are
offering our popular Marketing Mini special, tiny
canvas or watercolor giclées to send off as samples
to prospective clients and galleries, or to frame up and
sell or give as gifts.
October is also Arts and
Humanities Month - watch the short video and be
inspired to paint, photograph, attend an arts event with
a child, support an arts event, enter a show - celebrate
Art!
A fellow artist and Fine Print customer,
William Sitting Bull, is battling with stage three renal
failure and
needs a kidney transplant. His gallery in Cheyenne,
Wyoming is leading the effort to help raise funds for
this talented artist. Read the article below on what they
are doing and how Fine Print is helping.

Mini giclées to give away or sell
Once again, Fine Print is offering its popular giclée
Marketing Minis for a limited time only. Marketing Minis
are small versions of your larger prints which can be
sent as samples to galleries, collectors and
prospective collectors to give them a hands-on
sample of the quality of printing as well as the beauty
of the image.
During this special, which runs
from now until October 31, 2008, you can order a
Marketing Mini package for any images you have
already proofed either on canvas or watercolor paper.
The quantity of minis you will receive will vary
depending on the proportion of your original and the
size you wish to have them printed.

Conservation Spotlight

The International League of Conservation Photographers
Fine Print Imaging and Art for Conservation are the
proud sponsors of an exhibition and sale of
photography from the International League of
Conservation Photographers. The show runs through
October 31, 2008 at the Collective Fibe Art Gallery in
Fort Collins. A well-attended VIP reception was held
on October 2, and attendees were treated to a talk by
ILCP members Wendy Shattil, Bob Rozinski and Boyd
Norton.
Over twenty photographers have
images in the show - including National Geographic
photographers Frans Lanting, Art Wolfe, Joel Sartore,
Roy Toft and Cristina Mittermeier.
All the
images in the show were printed by Fine Print
Imaging on gallery-wrapped canvas and are
available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the
International League of
Conservation Photographers. All images in the
show can be seen on the Art For
Conservation website.
These
photographers have dedicated their lives to raising
awareness about conservation issues around the
globe. Your support will help them continue their
important work.
The mission of the ILCP is "to further environmental
and cultural conservation through ethical photography.
We believe that awe-inspiring photography is a
powerful force for the environment, especially when
paired with the collaboration of committed scientists,
politicians, religious leaders and policy makers. We
plan to replace environmental indifference with a new
culture of stewardship and passion for our beautiful
planet."

Prints for Non-Profits program

lending a helping hand
Chief Sitting Bull's great-great grandson artist William
Sitting Bull is in stage three renal failure from long-
term diabetes, and his eyesight has been affected too.
Native Americans are insulin resistant, and Billy is not
a good candidate for dialysis. He needs a kidney
transplant and, to this end, The Link Gallery in
Cheyenne, Wyoming is trying to
raise funds to help with his medical treatment.
Billy has no health insurance and his
prescriptions alone amount to more than $1000 a
month. Additionally, there are already huge bills for his
stay in intensive care while they stabilized his
condition when he first suffered the major
hypertensive episode that heralded this awful, sudden
decline in his health.
Prints of the image
shown, printed by Fine Print Imaging, will be available
for purchase at the gallery, with proceeds going to
help with Billy's medical expenses. Kate Dardine,
Fine Print Image Marketing Director says, "through our
Prints for Non-Profits Program, we were able to print
up 11x14 Lumira prints for Billy at a greatly reduced
price, enabling him to offer a low-cost item to sell and
raise funds for his much needed transplant."
A bank account has been opened where you
can send donations, both before and after the fund-
raising event on October 11, 2008 at the Link Gallery.
Any help will be very gratefully accepted. Please
contact the gallery for further information at 307-778-
0330.
We all wish Billy well.
