It may be a little late in the day but I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Easter 2012. It's been a day of mixed emotions for me because it's my last day in the London house on Windsor Road where the Ecker family has lived for the past three and a half years. The house is nearly empty now, at least empty of people as Angie, Ashley, Zach, and Zoey have relocated to Panama City, Florida. Don't worry, I'm still planning to join them at the end of June. But starting tomorrow I'll be staying in a small rented room for a couple of weeks and then move in with an English vicar's family when their spare room becomes available.
You're probably wondering why I'm wearing a police uniform in my photo this time. Well, it was for a play that we performed last night at House on the Rock and I have to say it went very well. Written and produced by church members it was called "Nana" after the main character, a young African lady sold into a life of prostitution in modern-day London. The full house was moved by her story of betrayal, abuse, desperation, and ultimate rescue. Fortunately there was a happy ending for "Nana" but for others the ending was not happy at all. I played the small part of a police inspector over-seeing an investigation into the matter. The purpose of the play was to raise awareness of the heinous crime of human-trafficking and raise support for several anti-slavery campaigns.
The Ecker family gives thanks for your continued generosity and prayer support, especially now that the family has divided temporarily. The moving van arrived as planned and the family's flights back to Florida went well on March 22nd, even though it was a few days earlier than originally planned. So if you can help with this time of transition, any assistance can still be sent by check payable to First Baptist Church of Clermont, directed to the Ecker family fund. The church address is 498 W. Montrose St., Clermont, FL, 34711.

Nana: sold for nothing, freedom will cost her everything

-- Thanks for praying for the Ecker family as we make a transition back to the US. Angie and the kids left on March 22nd but I'll be staying in London until the end of June.
-- Islington Street Pastors will need a new coordinator.
-- Please pray for the youth club on Thursdays at House on the Rock, that it continues to reach new people.
-- Please remember the Islington Foodbank at House on the Rock, pray for donations and volunteers. There have been many opportunities to share the Gospel and several clients attended our play.
-- Please continue to pray for our family and financial situation and my hunt for a new church position in the US. I've sent out a number of resumes but no bites on the hook yet. I'm looking for a mission-minded church to serve as pastor, associate pastor, or combo-position preferably in an urban context.
