Merry Christmas

We wish you a belated "Merry Christmas" from London. Although the weather has been wet and windy (thankfully not as cold as last year), we have enjoyed the warmth of having the entire family together again. AJ and his girlfriend, Dani, arrived on the 15th of December to join us for the holidays. We hadn't seen him face-to-face in two years! Ashley also came back the same day from babysitting in Portugal. So the holidays have been filled with church services, music, old movies, board games, food, and sight-seeing.

We give thanks to the Lord for bringing our family all together again for a few weeks and for your generosity and continued prayer support. Any assistance can be sent by check payable to First Baptist Church of Clermont, directed to the Ecker family fund. The church address is 498 W. Montrose St., Clermont, FL, 34711.

Happy New Year

May your 2012 be a prosperous year to remember!!

PRAYER REQUESTS:

--"Alex" has finally "fallen off the wagon" this week. He has done so well for so long but something must have stressed him to the breaking point. Please pray for him and others that struggle with long-term addictions.

--Islington Street Pastors had two "patrols" in December. Although the temps were very low each time, many young people were out at clubs drinking to excess. Please pray for a good turn out at our Commissioning/Recruiting event on the 20th of January.

-- Please pray for the youth club on Thursdays at House on the Rock, that it continues to reach new people in the community. We have plans to begin a youth Bible study in the near future. Many young people have not heard the Gospel, please pray for them to have open hearts.

--Please remember the Islington Foodbank at House on the Rock, pray for donations and volunteers. Pray for individuals and families in need. The pre-Christmas supermarket drive was very successful and recently two people have prayed to receive Christ when they visited the foodbank. Please pray for more opportunities to share the good news about God's love, forgiveness, and acceptance.

--Also, the drop-in ministry at Upper Holloway Baptist, Kings Cross Baptist, St. Stephens, Union Chapel, and All Saints Church; pray for increased funding and volunteers.

--Our ministry to university students is called The Rock Foundation. Please pray for me as I'm giving support to the students leaders in Cardiff, Manchester, and West London, and trying to get a new groups started in other London universities. We also have plans to start a monthly outreach on Sunday nights at a local coffee house (see: cafechurch.net).

--Please continue to pray for our family and financial situation. I've nearly sorted out our UK taxes and will have some catching up to do. We also need prayers for God to send us a new renter for our house in Florida which came empty just after Thanksgiving (your generosity helped pay our mortgage this month and for AJ's flight to London). Thankfully AJ is still working at a cinema in Panama City, FL, and finishing his studies at the community college while Ashley is doing a lot of "child-minding" in London and finishing her high school. Please pray for AJ and Dani as they return to Florida on the 5th of January.

--Please pray for my dad: Bobby Ecker (age 89). He has been admitted to the hospital in Panama City, FL, with internal bleeding for unknown reasons.
