New Year's Day, Valentine's Day, and Birthdays
I know it's a little bit late but I'm finally getting around to wishing everyone a Happy New Year and Happy Valentine's Day. It sure seems like 2010 is going by very fast to me, how about you?

It also seems a lot colder this winter on both sides of the pond. Hopefully the snow, sleet, and ice will give way to warmer weather soon.

As I said last time, we were happy to have our eldest, AJ, with us during the holidays. This time we were able to take him to Leeds Castle, to a Christmas pantomime, and for a ride on the London Eye (see photos*).
He's now safely back in Panama City where he attends the local college while living with his grandmother.

The other three Ecker children are doing well. In addition to homeschooling, Zoey is taking a drama class, Zach is taking karate lessons, and Ashley is taking aerobics and kick-boxing classes with her mom at our local community sports centre.

In February we celebrated two birthdays in addition to Valentine's Day. For Angie's birthday, she was treated to a night on the town and a West End musical version of Sister Act. For Zach's birthday we found a new indoor mini golf course, the only one in all of London!

*I know it looks like we've been having nothing but fun-times but the photos only represent a few days out of the past two-three months. Try this link to see some of the photos in a larger format. PHOTOS

Prayer Requests and Updates
  • Please pray for "Addie" in the hospital with an undiagnosed infection.
  • Please pray for Karim, a Christian Iranian refugee, that needs new accommodation and suffers from post-traumatic stress.
  • Please pray for AJ to find a job in Panama City.
  • Please keep praying for our work with the marginalised, unemployed, homeless, and hungry at our Monday Drop In.
  • Please keep praying for our Cafe ministry on Wednesdays and Thursdays and Angie's Ladies' Bible study on Wednesday afternoons.
  • Please remember to pray for our Islington Street Pastors as we continue to explore new parts of the borough. Three new trainees will begin in March.
  • Please remember to pray for Pastor Brian and the other Baptist pastors in our borough: Nigel, Andrew, Mark, and Rudy.
  • Please keep praying for our Monday night youth club: Teens4Truth (T4T). One of the young ladies recently witnessed the aftermath of a suspicious death on her housing estate.
  • Please pray for us as we begin the daunting task of renewing our work visas for another term.
  • Please keep praying for "Stephen" who is having some emotional, physical, and financial problems.
  • Thank you for praying for "Alex" struggling with alcoholism and isolation. We're hoping to get him into a detox program very soon. Unfortunately, he wound up in the hospital during the Christmas holidays.
Again, thank you so much for your support. We were really amazed at how you partnered with us financially in 2009 despite the downturn in the economy. Let's continue to work and pray together in 2010. You make it possible!

Please feel free to reply directly to this e-newsletter and let us know you are praying and how we can pray for you, or just drop us a line to let us know how you are doing.

God bless,
