Almost Ready to Leave Clermont It's hard to believe ten years have come and gone since we moved to Clermont with our young family. Well, we're not that young anymore but it has been a great ten years. We hope you will remember us in your prayers and stay in touch as much as possible.
Well, our house is nearly empty (anybody need a sturdy solid-wood entertainment center?), the boxes are stacking up, and I think we have a family lined up to rent. So we'll probably be on the road to visit family sometime next week.
You never realize how much stuff you have until you try to get rid of it all and shipping across the pond is very expensive! So we're not shipping any furniture, just clothes, books, and personal items.
Visa Update: One to Go The biggest challenge in our relocation has been acquiring visas. You don't need a visa to visit the United Kingdom, but working and living there long-term is a different story. The process is very complicated and a waiting game.
So far we have visas for everyone except AJ. His is being handled separately because he's 18 and we have to prove he is still a dependant. The British Consulate called and interviewed him over the phone on Wednesday. We're supposed to know something by Monday, so keep praying. Our plan is for him to stay with us in London for a year and then return to Florida for college. We also hope he can take some on-line courses while in London.
Vans for Sale Another way you can help is help us sell our mini-vans. We have two similar vans made by GM. The first is a 1996 GMC Safari with about 150K miles and the second is a 2001 Chevy Astro with just over 100K miles. If you know anyone who might be interested send me an email or call Brad Montgomery at 321-689-6030.
The photo below is not one of our vans but a similar model.
