Greetings!
Well I told you last month that we were going to be doing things different this year by staying conditioned through the holidays. If you are not already on board, don't worry it is not too late to start. Every day of eating healthy and getting good exercise is not only a day that you feel great and accomplished but are staying fit and healthy and keeping those extra pounds at bay.
Please feel free to join me and the rest of my Facebook fans for our Christmas diet: All I Want For Christmas Is My 6 Pack Abs. We have a motivational community set up there and we are all rocking and rolling doing what it takes to make sure Santa brings us what we really want for Christmas.
We had a great phone coaching conference call a few weeks ago that got everyone extremely fired up and I am so excited about all the awesome energy swirling around. By the way, if you were not on the call, you can get the replay: Motivation For Excellence: MP3 download, It is an hour long extremely intense session that I highly recommend.
This month is dedicated to you slackers out there. I know a lot of people are on board with staying fit during the holidays but some of you are just not convinced. The diet is getting sloppy. As the weeks go by it gets a little sloppier. So I am here to stop it and I am dedicating this December newsletter to you.
If you think you can get away with it.... Think again! |

NO TIME IS A GOOD TIME FOR CHANGE
There will never be a convenient time to make a difficult decision. There will never be a time where your life slows down enough so that you can "start" something. That is why making decisions are so difficult, because they just won't accommodate to fit your schedule.
Does there always seems to be something that comes up that takes priority over your health, your training, your nutrition and your goals regarding health and fitness and competing? As competitors, we have chosen already the road less traveled. So for us we have the extra challenge. This challenge is self imposed. Are you up for what you have laid out before yourself, or are you a slacker? Are you going to sit on your bum in December and part of January? Believe me your competition is NOT! At least the champions. They are in the gym training, and dedicated to their sport. Family and friends are still important, but there is balance and the job of staying in awesome shape still gets done. The path is laid out,the plan is in front of them and they just follow it. No messing around in their minds of what they feel like doing or not doing, just working the plan. There is a calm feeling of emotional detachment, and that comes from having made a decision and sticking to the plan.
I work with way too many competitors that we end up picking up the pieces after the holidays, and sometimes, yes after shows. An extra 25-30 pounds is not uncommon for the figure competitor to gain. The extreme diet that many participate in leads to an extreme non diet. As I have mentioned in my E-book: Releasing The Diet Drama, "swing the pendulum nice and easy and the string will never break"
So, make a decision today. The buck stops here. No more excuses. Make your plan something you can realistically do, but stop the madness of the foods that you know you just can't get away with for a long time. Let's not pick up the pieces of an extra 25-30 pounds come January. Begin TODAY! Every good day is a step toward your goals. Every day you do what it takes to be a champion, feels rewarding. The reward is knowing that you worked the plan, and did what it takes to be a champion. You didn't starve yourself or cut out your carbs and fat, but you ate good clean healthy food in the off season and feel great and all your clothes still fit.
Let's all go for it! Be excellent! This sport requires that of us. We can require it for ourselves? How long will it take before you decide? |
