So here is my NEW take on the journey. We have point A, which is where we are, and we have point B, which is where we are going, and we have all that stuff in the middle. The middle is the part that people call the journey. But, I want to call it something different. Maybe if we call it something different, we can have a different approach to it. What is that stuff in the middle? That "line" between where we are and where we want to be. What does it really consist of if we look closer at it? That line is called LIFE. Every day, we are living and breathing it, we have new moments, new seconds, new things to enjoy.
I was recently thinking about when I was a kid going to school. I didn't have any bills, no rent, no job, no car. I thought to myself, "ah, those were the good old days". Then when I think about 5 years ago, somehow those were the good old days, then last year, oh yes, those where the good old days. So, I got to thinking what if the good old days, are really right now. What if, I look back on my life in 10 years from now, and I am sure I will.. and say, those were the good old days. I decided that if these are the good old days, then I better be enjoying them much more than I am.
We are never going to get a second chance for right now. Even though there are goals we want to achieve and we are not there yet, just think if you didn't have any goals at all, you would have no reason to get up. There is always going to be something else. So if we are so eager to get it done, what will be next? Then what will be next? Then what? Then what? There will always be something.
So let's decide now, to have our goals, to be focused on them, to think about them constantly, to progress with never ending persistence and passion towards them, all the while enjoying HOW we are going about getting there.
A cliche that I don't think we get tired of is saying "stop and smell the roses". and I will add, and look at the birds and listen to them sing, and feel the spring air on your face, and appreciate your pants fitting loose, and enjoy the feeling of going to the gym, and feeling empowered and in control of your diet, and the excitement of your heart beating in your chest, and your breathing. Deep breath. This is life, let's all make it feel good and worth living.
