Greetings!

This month's newsletter is inspired by one of my clients (thanks Kim) You hear me talk a lot of shop about taking care of our mind, and we all "assume" we are taking care of our bodies right?

Well, not so fast this month's newsletter is about taking care of our bodies. Things you already knew to do, but don't since you are so "healthy" Yes, we can even do better with that one.
Figure Tip of The Month

TAKING CARE OF YOUR BODY!

This month is all about taking care of our bodies.  We all eat good, exercise regularly and live an extremely health life.  As figure competitors we are the example that everyone wants to live by.  We are the elite.  So what can we do to take it to the next level? Recently I was inspired by one of my clients who gets an annual "tune up", and I thought what a great idea, so I started on my quest for my own tune up and here is what I discovered.

My first stop naturally was the chiropractor.  I was taught many years ago by my chiropractor that everything stems from the spine and it is all about mechanics.  So I stopped in for a tune up and we discovered some imbalances, and he has set me on a new path with my training to exercise certain muscles differently to put my spine in perfect alignment to feel no discomfort at all.  Unfortunately that includes more ab training "boo hoo" not my favorite, but will certainly feel great. Funny thing, I have been walking taller since I went in, and I walk pretty erect in the first place, so that is a fantastic feeling.  I am going to check back again in 2 weeks to see my progress.

Next stop, naturally with my spine aligned was a trip to get a massage.  Now I am not a big fan of massage, mostly because every time I get one I feel like I have been tickled with a feather and that is about it. So, I went in for a deep tissue/sports type massage.  Now here is the interesting thing, you will find after getting a massage (if they go deep anyway) areas of tightness that you did not know you had.  We focused on deep breathing and releasing the tightness, and naturally I was standing up even taller than after the chiropractor.

My third stop, acupuncture.  I love acupuncture. I can go in with a start of a cold and somehow they will push that all the way out of my body. Interestingly enough, I hate needles. I don't know how I get myself to go, but it is the fact that I feel so much better when I am done, the thought of needles being involved seems to melt away.  I go in with any discrepancies I am feeling that are causing me to be out of alignment in any way, I come out totally refreshed and energized and a bag of herbs for hot tea all customized to my symptoms and what energy needs to be balanced out.

I encourage you to use any of the above methods, or maybe one of your own to pamper yourself and get your energy aligned and feeling even better than you already do.
