Greetings!
This month's newsletter is all about having fun! What is the purpose really of competing if we are not having fun? One of my favorite sayings is, "if I am not having fun, that is when I quit" I love to have fun. I love to make this sport. fun, and especially when I travel out of town to do shows, I really like to make those especially fun. So, are you ready to have some fun? |

LET'S HAVE SOME FUN, SHALL WE?
One of my greatest values as a competitor is to have fun. I love to be disciplined and I also love to make that fun. I am always looking for ways to make my training, dieting and show day experience better and better. One of the ways that I am able to have fun is to set up a goal, focus upon it. (winning of course) then let it go and train and diet with passion and excitement.
The trick to this technique lies in the letting go of the "winning" thing. Now I don't mean let go in the sense that I no longer want it, I mean let go in such a way that I am not high strung and anal retentive so much that I am not able to enjoy the process because I am so caught up in winning.

BACKSTAGE AT THE HOUSTON PRO
So, how do I do that you ask? One way is to look for other things that make the process fun. I love stoning my suits. I love posting on my journal about my contest journey. I love taking my kids to the shows. (yes, those two little balls of cotton are my kids)I love talking to other competitors and text messaging them. I love relaxing backstage and talking to the girls, I love learning new things about myself, and using the journey as a peresonal growth outlet. All these things make the experience fun and rewarding so that when I look back on each show, I smile and think to myself, "that was so much fun, I want to do it again".
Time to get back to your roots and put the fun back in your training. Find a way or many ways to enjoy it. Start with something you already enjoy about it, then you can build on that making those feelings bigger and bigger. I love doing that! It makes my diet seem so effortless. |

BODY FAT TESTING
My clients know all too well the importance of body fat testing. More important than that, accurate bodyfat testing. Hydrostatic weighing is the most accurate (affordable) method of bodyfat testing. Get your body fat tested about once every 3-4 weeks. There are many web sites you can go to in order to accomplish this. I recommend www.getdunked.com
Also for those of you local to or near Allentown PA. My good friend Tina Todd, owner of Club One Fitness and Figure can take great care of you. Not only with her Fitness Wave bodyfat testing but also her Silhouette Fitness and Figure Team. For complete support in contest preparation please visit her web site for more information.
