Greetings!
I just got back from a wonderful weekend is Houston, competing at the Houston Pro. It was a great time and at the same time slightly pulling on energy. My newsletter focus this month is on Inner Nourishment, or battery recharging, regrouping, resting, meditating. Whatever you want to call it, it is that thing we do to get re-energized, rebooted and refreshed. So without further ado here is your battery recharger for the month.

Inner Nourishment
Now I am not a bible thumper so don't start freaking out on me, for those of you athiests out there. (is there such a thing really?) I think we all believe in a higher power of some sort and we always seem to have a place that we go for inner nourishment, healing, regrouping or whatever you personally call it.
Well here is my story. I have several books by Joel Osteen, Your Best Life Now and Become A Better You. Well, I have seen his services on TV, and on our way to the airport we saw the church. We had plenty of time, (plus it was Sunday, haha) so we decided to swing by and check it out.
When we got there it was an amazing sight to see. If you have read either of his books you will know the huge challenges he faced getting his church in the current location that used to be a football stadium. (what?) yes, that is right, 26,000 people come to his morning service. Can you believe this? He also has 6,000 people in his afternoon Spanish speaking service.
So we went inside the lavish bookstore where his service from earlier that day was playing on the big screen TV and there were books and DVD's and motivational materials, devotionals and such. There was great energy in there and we spent a good amount of time just browsing the bookstore and opening up to the healing energy of that church. I watched a bit of the service, bought a book and a DVD and a t-shirt. My boyfriend, of course was off somewhere meeting a new friend and exchanging phone numbrs, and then we were on our way.
It was a wonderful healing experiences, and the book I bought was a journal to write in and so for the remainder of the trip I was writing in the journal , reflecting on my thoughts and re-charging my battery. If you are ever in the Houston area, I highly recommend visiting this church, even if you don't go to a service. www.joelosteen.comWhat does this have to do with fitness you ask? Everything really. It is in our quest for physical excellence, that we need to find the balance between outer results and inner results. When you are feeling low on energy, find the place that you go to in order to re-group, heal and reconnect to the inner you. When you do that, you remember what you knew all along, that you chose to forget, the reason you started your journey in the first place. It is to enjoy each moment and have fun. When we connect to that, life really is Grand!
