Sugar sugar sugar! This is an ingredient that is in almost every part of our diet. Because I have health issues I limit my sugar intake and it’s HARD! Lets take baby steps and try to limit how much sugar we drink! I don’t think too many people realize just how much sugar they and their children are consuming in their drinks! You are going to be amazed. Okay, here goes: 4.2 grams of sugar = 1 teaspoon of sugar Divide the total grams of sugar by 4.2 to figure out how many teaspoons of sugar you are consuming. So if you are drinking a bottle of soda and it has 44 grams of sugar, you divide that by 4.2 and that is equal to 10 TEASPOONS of sugar!! Can you believe that! When you or your child drinks a can of soda they are pouring 10 tsps of sugar into their system! Check out the label from a bottle of “Vitamin Water”. Now most people grab this and feel that they’re being extra healthy. Check out the sugar its 13 grams per serving, but check out the servings per container its 2.5 so that means if you drink an entire bottle of vitamin water which is 2.5 servings that 33 grams of sugar. Lets do our math: 33 grams/4.2 = 7.82 tsp of sugar So your healthy bottle of Vitamin Water is almost 8 tsp of sugar! My advice just have some water and vitamin c!
