A Message from our President, JJ Brun

GIVE YOURSELF THE RIGHT
When a psychiatrist makes the diagnosis of a character disorder, it is often because the pattern of avoidance vis-à-vis responsibility is relatively high in the diagnosed individual. Yet almost all of us from time to time seek to avoid the pain of assuming responsibility for our own problems or challenges that we might be facing such as writing a timely and thought provoking President Message every month.
CAPS Ottawa is taking a break in July from its monthly professional development seminars and the President is doing the same. I'm giving myself the right to rest and recharge, taking the time to enjoy getting up with my family and planning our day together. I hope you will also give yourself the right to slow down and recharge this summer. We have a great professional development program lined up you, for the second half of the year. I look forward to connecting with you next month as we launch the second half of what has already been a successful year for CAPS Ottawa. Enjoy your summer!

Find out what he thinks are:
- the biggest mistakes made by people new to the business
- the key to moving from "a good living" to making serious money
- the truth about agents, bureaus, and representatives
- how fee structures really work
- what associations like CAPS can, and cannot, do for your business
- getting into the US, and other foreign markets
About the Presenter: Warren is co-host of the famous Speakers Boot Camp held annually in the Rockies in support of Laura's Hope. Successful speakers make a major investment, and travel literally from all over the world, to have Warren help them get their platform presentations to the next level.

Events: Sneaker Camp Speaker: Warren Evans Date: Thursday, October 7, 2010 Time: 9:00am-4:00pm (Networking starts at 8:30am) Location: TBA Cost : $1,1997.00 REGISTER NOW!
Most CAPS members are aware of the " Get Better; Get Busier BootCamp" for speakers that Warren runs with Kit Grant CSP HoF in support of Laura's Hope. Well over 100 speakers from several countries have made the trip to Calgary to get the hands-on coaching that will help them refine their message and deliver it with more impact.
Sneaker Camp is a slimmed down version of BootCamp. It was created when a group of Toronto Chapter speakers approached Warren and explained that, for a variety ofreasons, they were not ready to invest 3 days and $4,000 plus travel to go to BootCamp. But they wanted his help, and so Sneaker Camp (as they called it) was born.
Sneaker Camp is shorter, less expensive, and local.
Ottawa Chapter is pleased to bring Sneaker Camp to our members, here in Ottawa.
On Thursday, October 7, Warren will spend a full day, with a maximum of 8 colleagues, working on their individual material, using their personal style, and taking their stage presence up a notch. This day will actually start with a half hour meeting the night before, immediately following our Chapter meeting. The cost is $1,197 per person.
This is not a sit-and-take-notes seminar. It is all "get up and do your stuff: now let's make it better". Everybody gets one-on-one time. You may record yourself and Warren's feedback if you wish. Registration is transferable, not refundable. To be one of the 8, Click here to register.
About the Presenter:
Warren Evans is trends analyst and professional speaker based near Toronto Canada, serving clients in two dozen countries on 6 continents. He is widely recognized not only as a master presenter, but also as one of the most knowledgeable people in our business.
He is a Past-President of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers, and one of only 16 people inducted into the Canadian Speaking Hall of Fame. He is a recipient of the prestigious International Ambassador Award from the NSA (only 8 have been awarded in the past 30 years). He was also the Founding Chairman of the International Federation of Professional Speakers.
Warren is also involved in philanthropic activities, serving as Chairman of the Board of Governors of Laura's Hope, a global medical research initiative.
