AWHONN's Position Statement on Labor Support
 
information AWHONN's recent position statement (JOGNN Sept/Oct 2011) emphasizes continuous labor support by the RN to improve birth outcomes and further notes that 1:1 nursing care during labor has superior outcomes. The position statement notes a decrease in operative vaginal births or cesarean births with continuous labor support.
