data entry

Please try and get your data in by the 20th.  One hospital suggested setting weekly goals to avoid massive data entry at one time. Other hospitals have used volunteers or 'light duty' staff that is comfortable with data entry. Consider contacting the volunteer department or workers compensation offices to help make the data entry deadline!

ACOG's Thromboembolism in Pregnancy practice bulletin

information Since pregnant women have a 4-fold to 5-fold risk of developing a thromboembolic event when compared to non-pregnant women, prevention measures in pregnancy are recommended. Thromboembolic events account for 9% of all maternal deaths in the United States.

Among ACOG's recommendations is the use of inflatable compression devices prior to a cesarean section and leaving them in place until the mother is ambulating. If the mother was on anticoagulation medications during pregnancy, inflatable compression devices are to be left in place until the anticoagulation regimen could be resumed.
