Thanks to All Participants

thanksThanks for sharing tips with each other on the October phone calls about the Human Milk Initiative baseline data collection. I think we are on the way to becoming a professional learning community where "All Teach and All Learn," and that includes each team in the Initiative. 29 centers are participating in this initiative, listed here. I have scheduled another phone call on Thursday, November 18, from 2-3 pm. Any team is welcome to call in with questions or comments to share; the call in number is 919-962-2734. If your team did not participate in at least one of the October calls, please be sure to schedule a team member to participate on the 18th.

A Physician or Midwife is highly advantageous for team success

information In this email I would like to highlight the role of the MD or CNM champion. Our work is multidisciplinary and as such, each team will recruit members from every discipline committed to the best outcomes for mothers and babies.  A brief glance at the action plan reveals multiple areas where disciplines will work together to craft the system to assure breastfeeding support for every mother baby dyad. PQCNC has found the presence of a physician or midwife to involve the medical staff in this work to be critical for advancing a quality agenda. I have included an article to share with your MD or CNM champion.
