Upcoming important dates, next steps for the SIVB Initiative...

(The Support for Birth initiative's weekly email newsletter comes out every Tuesday.  As a reminder, it is your job as key contact to share relevant information with other team members at your hospital.)

Baseline data collection enters month 2

data entry If you missed the October 26 webinar (or even if you were there), here are some important reminders:

·    You must complete a form on every NTSV patient in sequential order, starting from the first of the month.  This means every patient - day or night, weekday or weekend.  No skipping!
·    You must complete a form on every NTSV patient, even if she is admitted for c-section.  You only have to fill out one or two questions on these patients, but we still need these forms.
·    Hospitals who are sampling will therefore submit more than 40 forms; you should submit forms on all patients until you have completed 40 "long" forms - those which had to be filled out completely.
·    "One-to-one" nursing, a response to the Labor Support question, refers to continuous nursing support during the first stage of labor.

The slides from the October 26 webinar are on the S4B Extranet page on www.pqcnc.org. Please review them if you were late to or unable to attend the October 26 webinar.

Updated data collection form

update The data collection form has been updated to include time of admission and date/time of delivery; the database will calculate the length of that interval.  The new version of the form is on the SIVB Extranet page on www.pqcnc.org
