Key Contact Info
I am delighted to welcome you to your role as the "information guru" for the PQCNC Human Milk Initiative in the Newborn Critical Care Center in your hospital. Earlier this week I sent an email to every person on the registration form where an email address was provided; this is outside our regular practice and it was a "one time" email to help make sure everyone gets to the webinar on Thursday September 30. The role of the key contact is to keep up with an internal distribution list and to forward time sensitive information to everyone on your home team working to assure mother's milk is available for extremely low birth weight babies in your hospital. It is possible that your name was entered as the key contact without your knowledge, not to worry. More likely, there are several folks who would benefit from attending the webinar who are not yet aware of the initiative. This week, please forward the webinar information widely; as you go forward, your team can determine how broadly the key contact emails, which will arrive weekly, should be distributed.
Additionally, in October, I will ask for your team to consider forwarding another name and email to serve as a second key contact for your team. I found in our previous work that it serves you all better not to let the flow of information potentially get slowed by vacation, illness or "unit crisis mode." Thanks in advance for helping to get the webinar information to the broadest appropriate group. You can find the date, time and log-in information on our website if you ever misplace the email.
I provide several phone numbers in addition to my email address in each email, please feel free to use any of them to contact me at any time. I look forward to working with you and your team as we tackle this important issue for babies in North Carolina! |
Webinar scheduled for September 30, 2-4 PM
The first webinar for teams registered for the Human Milk-Newborn Critical Care Center initiative will be held on September 30 from 2-4 pm. There is a separate webinar for the well baby and mother initiative-let me know if you are interested in that meeting as well and I will be happy to forward the sign-in information. You are listed as the key contact and as such your role is to disseminate time sensitive information to the team of folks who can use it. We know you are in the beginning stages of creating a team to increase the number of VLBW babies discharged from your hospital having had human milk for the first 28 days of life. The agenda for the meeting will be to introduce you to the PQCNC Clinical Leaders of the initiative, the action plan, the timeline and the measures. Please send this email out to all potential team members and staff who might be able to join the virtual meeting as well as parents or parent support specialists who may be helping your team with this initiative.
Sign in to the web based portion of the meeting by clicking here anytime in the 15 minutes before the meeting starts. The conference call number for the meeting is 712-432-6100, passcode 96875#
You can find the charter on the PQCNC website.
Thank you in advance for your expertise, your enthusiasm and your commitment to mothers and babies in North Carolina. Please don't hesitate to contact me with comments or questions in the interim.
