Greetings!
What a year it's been so far! Has anyone congratulated you on a job well done, on your excellent work, on your outstanding accomplishments? Well, just in case:
CONGRATULATIONS!
I'm sure you've done so much this year. Really! Oh, don't you look at me with that "Well... there's so much more I wanted to get done by this point" face. Of course, you wanted to get more done! So did I! But that speaks more directly to your great focus, dedication, and drive. It speaks of the high standard to which you keep yourself. A high standard is wonderful, but you also have to know when you give yourself a break. You need to realize, "Wow, I am making such amazing strides in my work, my relationships, my life that even if I haven't gotten THIS done or THAT done at this moment, it will get done. That's how much I care about my passions."
Have you realized that? Yeah? (Yeah?) Good.
Continue on this wonderful year with a balanced sense of work and play, of drive and relaxation, of activity and meditation. You can do it. You've already done it! And you will continue to do it, day after day, week after week, month after month, until we move our way into 2013... and then you'll do it all over again! You're an Achiever - with that golden capital A. Trust yourself. And, if you haven't been trusting of yourself, now's the best time to start.
In the midst of all of our great work and outcome/goal setting, we aim for the top of the mountain, thinking we can get there in one fell swoop, with one incredible leap. How many people have reached the top of the mountain in one incredible leap from the bottom? So, why are you trying to do everything at once? Remember (see above), "You can do it. You've already done it!" With purpose, passion, and proper planning, you can set yourself up for many steps to success. You'll still reach the same point, and you won't wipe out trying to do too much at once. Again, creating high standards are outstanding - allowing high standards to knock you down or make you feel unproductive, unworthy, or hold you back is no good at all. Find your balance, do your preparation, make your strides, and I cannot wait to hear about all of your successes.
Here's to a Happy Labor Day (Weekend)! A celebration of the work you've done all year - your whole life! - and the excellent work you still are excited to do (and will be doing after this wonderful fun and/or restful 3-day weekend, right?). Get out there and make a difference! I trust in you and what you do.
