Cadac Safari Chef Portable Grilling System
I love this little grill! For the most part we try and cook over the fire, but if the weather is not cooperating or time is tight, than it's time to pull out the grill. With so little use I really don't want to drag around a big storage space wasting grill and with the recent release of the Cadac Portable Grill thats not an issue. This compact and versatile grill is perfect for 2-4 people who only need a grill for occasional use. When you first pull the grill out of the storage bag (which is great because it includes a spot for one of those disposable LP tanks) it takes a minute to figure out how all of the pieces go together. (Well that might have been because I threw away the instructions, hey I'm a guy) Since we had limited time, we threw on some hot dogs for the test and used the grilling grate which could fit about 4-5 hamburgers to give you an idea of size. The system also includes a griddle and all of the cooking surfaces are non-stick. There is a center burner similar to a stove and a heat deflector to spread out the heat and catch grease. The trick is to crank up the heat and get that deflector really hot. Once we figured that out (probably in the instructions) the dogs cooked pretty evenly and fast. The small size and ease of disassembly really comes in handy during clean-up. You really don't want a greasy grill sitting in your RV's storage compartment, not only will it smell, but throw in a little summer humidity and mold will be growing in no time. If your looking for a nice compact grill that will only see limited use, this versatile grilling system is the perfect choice.
