ABOUT THE PROGRAM

August 2011-2012

 

FOOD PROCESSING SPECIALIST CERTIFICATE   

This one-of-a-kind program provides food industry professionals and graduate students a broad working knowledge of the technical elements of thermal processing systems and alternative technologies to qualify at an intermediate level as a recognized Food Processing Specialist.

 

Students complete four courses (12 credits) in one calendar year to receive the certificate. Classes begin August 30, 2011, and details about subsequent courses are available in PDF format in the August 2011-2012 program course schedule. The application deadline is August 1, 2011.

 

DESIGNED FOR:

  • Food industry professionals in process development, process control, engineering, technology or unit operations who do not have a background in thermal processing regulations and microbial hazards associated with thermally processed foods
  • Graduate students enrolled in food science, food processing or related degree programs
