"Reclaim the Commons" Concert

The Friday night Earthwork Music Collective Concert has become a tradition at Great Lakes Bioneers. The Earthwork Music Collective believes in the intrinsic and historical power of music to raise both community and self-awareness. Prepare yourself for an evening of warm, soulful singing, toe-tapping melodies and, as always, a bit of the unexpected!  
WORLD PREMIERE FILM @ The State Theatre 8:00 pm Saturday Night

Join us in a Green Carpet World Premiere of "When We Run," a documentary by Mishe Mokwa Media about On The Ground's Run Across Ethiopia (onthegroundglobal.org/projects/run-across-ethiopia). This trip, sponsored by Higher Grounds Trading Company raised awareness and money for the development of schools in Ethiopia coffee farming communities. Back by popular demand! Perennial favorites of Bioneers across the state and trailblazers of the current Michigan roots music scene, Steppin' In It returns to help us celebrate 10 years of GLB with pizzazz and rhythm!  We're excited to have these talented friends back for our anniversary celebration!   

 

 

2011 Participatory Artist: GLENN  WOLFF

Each year we host an art project to be completed by conference participants during the course of the weekend. From 2004-2006 Traverse City native Glenn Wolff was our artistic facilitator. Glenn is returning to this role for our 10th anniversary year guiding us through a beautiful journey (re)discovering inter-connectivity.
