2012 Leadership in the Valley
On the trail
Old Rag

Greetings!

Thanks and congratulations to you for participating in our 2012 Leadership in the Valley staff ride.  We think we had a fun and memorable week of experiential leadership studies on the Appalachian Trail.  This will be the final e-mail sent to the entire group, but we encourage continued dialog about this event on our Facebook Page as you post your remembrances.  If you have any photos you want posted to our site, please e-mail them to JD or Eric.

Please complete our after-action on-line survey to formally provide your assessment and help us improve this course for next year.  We value your input (and it only takes 5 minutes). For those who will go on to lead academic institutions in the future (such as USNA), please understand that end-of-course surveys are an essential element of Institutional Research (IR) designed to evaluate and improve Institutional Effectiveness (IE).

Please return your Jackson in the Valley books to Dr. Thomas in Luce 238A as soon as possible.

We've also posted our "Top 10" remembrances in leadership and in field craft from last week.  You may have others, but these are ours.  Also included are the five "thoughts of the day". These are all provided in MS Word for ease of reuse.

Please do not hesitate to contact us by e-mail at any time.  Five years from now when you are leading Marines or Sailors and have a question about most any topic, we'll be glad to give you our thoughts.

Thanks again for sharing your Spring break week with us. Fair winds and following seas to each one of you!
Semper Fidelis,

Dr. Joe Thomas, J.D. Baker, and Eric Carlson
