The Lord's Supper: Have your say in our Facebook poll
LifeWay Research surveyed more than 1,000 Southern Baptist pastors about how their churches observe the Lord's Supper. While 96% open the communion table up to individuals who are not members of their local church, pastors reported a wider variety of responses when asked about specific criteria for taking communion in their churches:
-52% offer the Lord's Supper to "anyone who has put their faith in Jesus Christ"
-35% say "anyone who has been baptized as a believer" can participate
-5% serve communion to "anyone who wants to participate"
-4% don't specify any conditions for participation
What about your church? What qualifies someone to participate in the Lord's Supper in your local congregation? Visit us at Facebook.com/IllinoisBaptist and let us know. |

5 hidden dangers that corrode faith
For most believers, the greatest danger to faith is not some cataclysmic event that dramatically pushes them away from God. Rather, it's the slow, gradual dulling of their hearts toward Him. They lose all ability to "see" God, to perceive His activity on Earth. Learn the 5 hidden dangers that corrode faith at ChurchLeaders.com. |
