Message from the President
Cliff Johnson, CAE, President
Cliff Johnson, CAE, President

This has been an interesting Quarter at PRCI. We have added two new Pipeline Operating Company Members, Plains All American Pipeline and PetroChina Pipeline Company, and one new Technical Program Associate Member, Emerson Therm-O-Disc (learn more about them in the Welcoming New Members to PRCI article). It is great to see that a number of key leaders in our industry are looking to PRCI to assist in the development of needed technology to continue to ensure the safety and integrity of our critical pipeline infrastructure. We ask all of our current PRCI members to welcome our new members in the upcoming PRCI meetings.

Recently, I have had the opportunity to present at the China Oil & Gas International Pipeline Conference in Langfang China; at CORCON Corrosion Conference & Expo in Mumbai, India; the Rio Pipeline Conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (see the article in this issue); and at the DNV Pipeline Committee Meeting in London, U.K. (subsea pipeline focus). These events have provided us the opportunity to introduce PRCI to number of companies that are not familiar with PRCI but are looking for solutions to their pipeline safety and integrity issues. We are actively working with a number of pipeline operators from around the world to increase our membership and strengthen our knowledge of the status of the global pipeline infrastructure. These efforts demonstrate the global influence of PRCI and the vital role that we play in pipeline R&D. These new relationships will bring in new ideas and opportunities. (read full story)
