Long-Awaited follow-on to "Spectacular Journey"

Peabody Gallery is pleased to announce the availability of this significant release from the Pierson Collection.  It's predecessor, "Spectacular Journey" has been one of the most sought after works by Markus and has been sold out for many years.  If you own "Spectacular Journey" or missed out on acquiring the piece, you will certainly want to add "Lucky Me" to your collection.  Please call immediately.  There are only 35 in the edition.

"In the waning light of a perfect day, I pause to reflect on my continuing spectacular journey. I have discovered there is no place so small it can't contain adventure, no place so plain it can't seem like paradise, no place so remote it can't feel familiar, and no satchel so full it won't hold more memories. Oh - and no time too soon to start learning to say "lucky me" in a new foreign language".

Spectaular Journey

"That others may have ventured farther and done so in fine style bothered me not.  My journey was my own and I found it to be quite spectacular."

 Markus' Comments on "Lucky Me"

"It is called "Lucky Me", and it is the follow-up to "Spectacular Journey". Yes, indeedy. I've had this tempting piece of candy in my pantry for quite a while now, and now it's time to enjoy it's delicious flavor. The painting was one of the most technically difficult ones I've ever attempted. It's hard to paint a parisian street scene without looking at one, but I think I did it justice. Feels like Paris to me, at least my recollections of it. It took me years to decide what he would be floating around in. I just couldn't get a handle on what to use. Then, while looking through a vintage Fortune magazine last summer in Maine, I saw an ad of a kid floating in a inner tube and - Whammo! - Markus
