Markus' Inspiration for "Bits of Saturday"
"There you have it. If you're like me, you have these inexplicable moments every now and then, moments where you feel a brief, fleeting moment of pure joy and optimism. They pass so quickly, some lasting only a minute or two, some lasting an hour, that we just think of them as a foolish notion that passes. Well - maybe not. Now that I know what to call them, I'm much more tuned in to my bits of Saturday, and I bask in them now. The same thing happened to the people at The Chase Group who read the painting...... and now perhaps, to you and yours. And then to your collectors, and then to their friends, and so on until it goes 'round the world. God knows, the world could stand more joy right now, even if it is fleeting. There's a reason the Coyote Series has lasted this long, and that's because its' collectors don't just collect it; they live it. Well, there's never been a piece more worth 'living' than this one. It is a good mood looking for a place to happen, and it's job, quite simply, is to identify joy and spread it. The coolest part is: we get to make a living helping it happen. I don't know about you, but as for me - I think that is about as good as it gets." - Markus |
