Greetings!
Emily certainly had a way with words. We offer here, for your enjoyment, her thoughts on the end of summer:
"The last of Summer is Delight Deterred by Retrospect. 'Tis Ecstasy's revealed Review Enchantment's Syndicate.
To meet it -- nameless as it is -- Without celestial Mail Audacious as without a Knock To walk within the Veil." - Emily Dickinson, The Last of Summer is Delight
We offer a toast to Nelson's last of summer!

 | Musical Connections From New England ... ... to Texas
| Join us tomorrow evening, August 23rd, at 7:00 pm in the Nelson Town Hall for the Olivia Rodham Memorial Library's presentation of "Musical Connections From New England to Texas" with Paul Klemperer.
Paul will talk about growing up in New England and his summers in Nelson, how they shaped his musical influences, and the many connections he discovered when he moved to Texas.
He will speak on his experiences with contradance music, American folk music, jazz, blues, and regional musics of the southwest, including Texas swing, Cajun music, Dixieland and brass band music. Examples will be played on clarinet and saxophone and some recordings of bands he works with in Texas. Paul has been playing and teaching professionally for over 30 years.
Bands that Paul performs or has performed with include Marcia Ball, Doyle Bramhall, Malford Milligan, PK Sax, Manteca Beat, The Klemperer Group, My Exotic Other, Mark Rubin's Rubinchik Yiddish Ensemble, James Hinkle Band, The Jazz Pharaohs, The Jitterbug Vipers, Golden Arm Trio, Austin Jazz Band, Alpine Express, La Strada and many more.
