What's Happening in the Marketplace?
What makes our online Classifieds and Marketplace so unique?  It's our friends and neighbors that make it stand out.

Greetings!

The first craft fair of the season will be held at the Chapel-By-the-Lake this Saturday from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm.  Light snacks and beverages will be sold from the kitchen.

This is a fund-raiser to raise money to paint the interior of the church.  For more information please contact Marline Leotta at 446-7857.
Farmers' Market on Friday
The Harrisville/Nelson Farmers' Market will be held in Harrisville this Friday at 5:30 pm.  Because the Market is held in the parking lot of the Post Office we are asking that you don't arrive until after 5:01 pm.

This week, they'll have a band playing and entertaining the market-goers, so do some talking up and help keep the customers arriving at the Market.

Both the Nelson and the Harrisville Agricultural Commissions have worked many long hours together to plan this major boost to our communities and to showcase our talents.

For more information about the Harrisville/Nelson Farmers' Market, call David Voymas at 847-3137 or Scott Oliver at 827-3973.

Hike, Look, and Listen

In the stillness of a mid-morning in July, come and be a part of a special Nature Walk, led by our own Al Stoops.  The Nature Walk will take place on Saturday, July 21st, at 10:00 am at the Olivia Rodham Memorial Library.

The Walk will commence from the library, and while we are hiking, Al will point out the nature around us that we may not see ourselves.

Wear comfortable, yet sturdy footwear, and dress for the weather.  Make sure you bring plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated during the hike.

For more information please call the library at 847-3214 or email library@townofnelson.com.
Summer Reading @ the Library
On Tuesday afternoon, July 24th, we go out of this world!  Kids are invited to join the galactic space adventure Tuesday afternoons at 4:00 pm for an hour of stories, games, crafts, and fun all at the Library!

Kids of all ages are welcome to participate in our summer programs, the programs are geared for kindergarten through elementary aged kids.  Younger children are welcome, but we suggest that they bring a helper along with them.

This week we'll be introduced to Galaxies, Constellations, and Stars-Oh My!  Why?  Because summer is the perfect time for stargazing!  Head to the library and join in on the galactic getaway!  We'll be making shooting stars and playing a fun group game called "Star Finder". This week's story is a beautifully illustrated book about constellations.

For more information you can call the library at 847-3214 or email us at  library@townofnelson.com.

Playing for Peace program.

6:45 pm in the Nelson Town Hall

"Apple Hill brings together people of different cultures to find new ways to communicate through music. In 1988, as U.S. Ambassador to Israel, I awarded the first Apple Hill Playing for Peace scholarship. Since that time, Apple Hill has grown to include musicians from more than a dozen countries in conflict who come together each year at Apple Hill's International Summer Music Festival in New Hampshire to do what they can to ensure that music and peace will prevail."

─Ambassador Thomas R. Pickering

Come enjoy an evening of beautiful music.  Following the program, there will be refreshments in the Library.

Enjoy your week ahead!
