Greetings!
The selectmen have completed a new design for the security remodeling project for our Town Offices. A copy of the floor plan, which at present we are calling E-1a, mat be seen here.
We believe that this relatively simple project can be completed in a week or two. As a result we have cancelled our rent agreement with Harrisville for temporary re-location of the office. We are planning to close the Town Offices for one week in August, during which time all rough-in work should be able to be completed.

 | Calling All Crafters | The Chapel By The Lake is seeking participants for a Crafts Fair to be held on Saturday, July 21st, from 8 am until 3 pm. The purpose of the event is to provide a venue for local crafters and to raise funds for the painting of the church exterior.
The Crafts Fair is open to anyone who would like to sell hand-crafted items, craft kits, or baked goods. Table rental is $15. If you provide your own table, then the rental charge will be $10 for an 8-foot space.
The Church will be selling light snacks and beverages from the kitchen during the craft fair. Set up will be from 7 am until 9 am on Saturday morning.
Space is limited, so we suggest that you make your reservations now. Call Marline Leotta at 446-7857 to reserve your space.

 | Tonight! Community Forum
| Please plan to meet with our Town Buildings Committee and Rick Monahon, our architect, to voice your thoughts on the work that we should undertake to repair, restore and/or upgrade our Town buildings in the Village. Your input at this meeting will provide the information that the Buildings Committee and the architect need to get our grant-funded project started off in the direction that the Town wishes it to take.
We will meet in the Nelson Town Hall this evening, June/27 at 7:00 PM to begin this very important discussion.

Kids! Summer Fun at the Library!
| Oh, my stars! Everyone had so much fun at the Library yesterday. We made balloon rockets and raced them, we listened to a story about space, and we made our own 'rockets' to take home.
This was just the first week of the fun offered every Tuesday afternoon from 4 pm until 5 pm at the Olivia Rodham Memorial Library for kids in the Summer Reading Program. And, it's not too late to join in on the excitement.
Next Tuesday, the 3rd of July, we will discover what it's like to live in space! Join us as we try a fun experiment that simulates how it feels to move in space, and make our own constellation key chains. After we play our group game, we'll read a book about living on a space frontier!
For more information about the Summer Reading Program, contact the Library at 603-847-3214.

Nelson Town Band & Ice Cream
| The Nelson Town Band will magically appear on the grounds of the Nelson Congregational Church on Sunday, July 8th at 5:00 pm to perform while you luxuriously dine on delicious ice cream with all the fixings!
Bring a lawn chair (or your agility) and sit on the lawn while the Band entertains you with their amazing repertoire of marches, show tunes, and more. Sundaes are $5.00 and $4.00 and all proceeds go to the Nelson Congregational Church. Volunteers are being sought to help serve up scoop after scoop of ice cream, to ladle up syrups and sprinkle on toppings, and layer on dollops of whipped cream. To volunteer or for more information call Joy Birdsey at 603-847-9533. |

Friends of the Library - News
| Library Book Sale We are once again gearing up for the Annual Book Sale held on Old Home Day, August 18th at the Town Hall. Sorting continues in the Library basement. All are welcome to help us sort. Just email Susan Hansel for details.
The Friends are still accepting donations of books, DVDs, CDs and videos. Please do not give us textbooks, manuals for out-of-date computers, old encyclopedias, or books in really bad shape because they just do not sell. All the money generated from the sale goes to support the Library.
Please bring your donations to the Library during open hours.
There will be a preview for Nelson residents only on Friday, August 17th from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Town Hall.
Annual Meeting The Friends of the Olivia Rodham Library will have its Annual Meeting on July 25th at 7 p.m. at the Library. All are welcome to attend. We will have election of officers for the coming year, discuss plans for the Book Sale, and identify projects to fund for the Library.
