 | In Search of Auction Donations
| Nelson Elementary School is actively seeking your donation for their 5th Annual PTO Auction. The Auction, to be held at the Nelson Town Hall on Saturday evening, April 28th, is the largest fund-raiser for the school. Proceeds from this auction will go towards the Greenhouse fund as well as funding a new playground project - a structure that will not only be a safe and fun place to play during recess, but will also serve as an outdoor classroom.
Rick Church has generously donated 2 pounds of Winnie's Gold Honey. The Carlisle Family has been busy gathering over $400 dollars worth of Gift Cards to such places as Shell Gas, the Gap, JCPenny, among others. Lee Germeroth has been persuaded to donate a large print of that beautiful photo he took of the Nelson Town Common. As in years past, we will also have a week of Kids on Campus, donated by Keene State College. Other donated items include a hand-made lap quilt from Ms. Vara and a fantastic gift certificate from Tracie's Community Farm.
There are other items that you can see at the school's Auction website. The students of Nelson School will also be creating items to offer at the auction. A group of Nelson School children is also active in their "Auction Club". These students are seeking more donations for the auction. You can help them out by donating your goods and services.
You may begin sending us your Auction donations today. If you need a copy of the Donation Form for 2012, please visit this Nelson School Webpage.

 | Nelson Neighbor Needs Our Help
| Dear Family and Friends,
I have recently been diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, better known as POTS. Standing up is something most of us take for granted; we've been doing it since childhood. However, the simple act of standing up is a challenge for me. My body is unable to adjust to the pull of gravity, and this often makes me lose consciousness and remain unresponsive for up to 30 minutes.
My doctor has recommended that I get a medical service dog to keep me safe - to protect me when I fall and call for help. The training of a medical service dog is very costly.
I am raising money for a Guardian Angel Medical Service Dog to keep me safe. The only option is to secure funding for this project through fundraising, sponsors, and donations. Will you help?
I am asking you to consider any size donation. For more information about POTS: http://www.dinet.org/pots_an_overview. Thank you, Linda Scanlan
Your donation is tax deductible. Please make checks payable to: Nelson Congregational Church, c/o Linda's Medical Service Dog And mail to the church at 830 Nelson Road. Nelson, NH 03457.

 | Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? | April 20: "GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER IN NELSON?" How about you?
Judi Lang and Karen Tolman are orchestrating a fun informal way to gather around the table, share a potluck meal, get to know one another and enjoy the evening. Have we piqued your interest? The entertaining element of mystery to this evening is this: The host's address is provided to the guests, but the host doesn't know who's coming to dinner. The guests show up at the address, but don't know who else will be there. In fact, they may not even know their host - even in a small town like Nelson. A fun and relaxing event - that's it!
You bring a potluck dish and show up or you share your table. So guess who's coming to dinner? Will it be you? Curious?
Call Judi 847-3277 or Karen 827-3226 today to find out more and to sign up - either as host or guest.
