Greetings!
Oh yes! It IS still January. The temps outside are chilly - not bone-chilling this year. It's easier to get out and about and attend one or more of the many activities being held in the town of Nelson.
Don't forget - the Closing Date for Warrant Articles for our March Town Meeting is February 7th, and the deadline you need to remember if you are filing for one of the Town Offices is February 3rd at 5:00 pm. A complete listing of the Offices is available in this newsletter.
Happy last full week of January!

 | Johnny Trombly Scholarship | Applications are now available for the 2012 Johnny Trombly Scholarship. The Johnny Trombly Memorial Scholarship was established by the Monadnock Folklore Society in 2001, at the request of Bob McQuillen who provided an initial endowment. Named in honor of Bob's mentor, the Scholarship is awarded annually to an individual under the age of 18 who would like to study traditional New England contra dance music. The scholarship provides up to $500 for students to use for lessons, mentoring, music and dance camps, etc. The money is intended to be used directly for fees related to these opportunities, not for music, instruments, or other tangible items. In considering applications, the Monadnock Folklore Society board is open to creative ideas within these parameters.
