Greetings!
My, but we are a busy community as we approach the end of the month and the beginning of August! There's so much to do! So many people to see! Lots of places to go!
We hope you take in some, if not all, of what Nelson and Munsonville have to offer in the weeks ahead. Take pictures - and send them to us!

 | Electric Power Savings | Karen Tolman
A group of Nelson and Harrisville residents has been meeting to determine if there are ways that our towns can save money by sharing resources, purchases, etc.
Maury Collins decided to research savings that might be available for electric rates. He contacted the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) and they suggested that he contact Resident Power . Resident Power has been offering savings to towns and industry, but just recently is extending that savings to individual customers.
Some towns in the state are already utilizing this service for their municipal accounts. But the added bonus is that for each individual/homeowner who signs up to save from 5-15% on the delivery part of their bill, the town gets a commission from that homeowner's account. Seems like a win/win situation!
Maury will leave more information at the Nelson Library.
Please also call him at home (847-3321) if you have more questions.

 | A Few Words of Thanks | It's time to give a few words of thanks for the help that was received this week in order to present you with the most informative newsletter possible.
Were it not for the combined work and effort of Gordon Peery, Linda Cates, Kathy Schillemat, Elizabeth Williams, Val Van Meier, Susan Hansel, and Bert Wingerson - a lot of stuff would have been lost!
Thanks go especially to Linda Cates for her willingness to proof-read the downloadable 2011 Nelson Old Home Week Schedule. This two-page schedule is offered to you so that it can be printed out and hung on the refrigerator. You won't miss any of the Old Home events!
Thank you - everyone! Tentative Schedule of Old Home Week Events
