 | 1st Thursday Pot Luck Supper | Please plan to join us tomorrow evening for the 1st Thursday Pot Luck Supper. This will be the last one until September, as we take the summer off.
On the first Thursday of every month Moving In Step hosts a community Pot Luck Supper. We all meet at around 6:30 in the evening in the Henry Melville Fellowship Hall of the Nelson Congregational Church. There's plenty of parking at the church or in the lot at the Town Common. We do ask that you not park on Log Cabin Road because it makes that road rather narrow for traffic to pass.
These Pot Luck Suppers are free and open to everyone in our community, young and old, summer folk or resident. Just bring a covered dish or dessert to share, your own plates, cups and cutlery.

 | Have you heard about "The Game of Village"? | This summer Village Farm, in Nelson Village, is host to The Game of Village, a children's summer camp that was created in Nelson by Cia Iselin in 1971. The Game of Village allows children to create a world in miniature, providing young people a chance to engage with the "adult world" on a small scale. Young people spend the summer having fun and creating their own community as they build, play, and learn together. Our time will be spent constructing and interacting in their miniature world as well as swimming, games, and singing. Each day at Village is filled with adventure!
Every camper, aka "homesteader" creates a miniature person called a "peep," and surveys and stakes out his or her own mini-acre of land. As they build their homes and fortunes, each homesteader finds a role in the miniature community being created. Often there is a mini newspaper, a radio station, and lots of very small businesses!
Each Game of Village takes shape according to the creative spirit of its players.

There are still openings available for this season! We want everyone to know that if there are children who need a great place to discover, grow and have a beautiful outside adventure for the summer, then "The Game of Village" is just the ticket! The Game of Village will happen this year from July 5th to August 5th. There are still openings for Villagers, ages 9 - 14. For more information: thegameofvillage.org. |
